On the national level, there are organizations like the United States Department of Education, Grants.gov, National Science Foundation, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Endowment for the Arts, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and American Library Association. These great organizations offer grants, awards, and funding to teachers and school districts. Many have one deadline annually, while others may have quarterly deadlines.
At the state level, there are various resources as well. Your state department of education offers grants for various needs. There are also state teacher associations, arts organizations, and library associations that provide education grants. Your state department of education will often provide links to their websites. If not, use a search engine to look for new associations.
On the local level, you can find community foundations, local arts groups, or your school may even have a foundation for the school. The hardest thing is knowing where to look.
Try sites like The Grantsmanship Center, Foundation Center, and TeachersNetwork.org. These sites have lists and links to help you find grants you can apply for.
