MSE100: Microsoft Excel- Guided Workshop

In this class, students will learn how to use some of the essential functions and features of Microsoft Excel. Some lessons give the students exact step-by-step directions on how to complete each project. Some lessons have the students start with a beginning file and perform individual formatting tasks. I will include an example of their finished project in the welcome packet I send out.

OBJECTIVE
This course aims to help students learn the basic functionalities of Microsoft Excel and strengthen their skills in following written and visual instructions.

REQUIRED MATERIAL
You will need to access your student portal every week to complete the assignments and engage in the weekly Zoom discussions. All reading material will be provided to you in your lesson tab. This class involves outside research.
I will provide students with instructions for Microsoft Excel for Windows (2016) and Microsoft Excel for Windows (2019). However, during our Zoom lessons, I will be using Microsoft Excel for Mac Version 16.59. If a student uses any other version, I will teach them how to locate features in the application to help themselves find solutions regardless of the version they use.

Be prepared for each lesson. Students must complete the assigned work and research for each week to earn points. It will help you get the most benefit out of this course if you take the activities seriously and put in the effort to learn. Additionally, you are encouraged to reach out to your instructor for additional guidance.
Basic research skills. This course is for students who have a basic working knowledge of online research. You should know how to employ proper online search techniques to conduct effective research.
Enjoy the class. Being prepared is essential, but you should never forget to enjoy your experiences. This class will help you achieve your goals by introducing you to valuable tools and resources and presenting information you can continue to utilize throughout your life.
